A Women’s Liberty or Death Reenactment

St. John’s Church Foundation presents a gender-reversed production of our time-honored Liberty or Death reenactment. In this historic rendition, women drawn from Richmond’s vibrant theatre and film community portray nine delegates to the Second Virginia Convention, including George Washington, Thomas Jefferson, Richard Henry Lee and of course, Patrick Henry.

Directed by Jan Powell, this special production was inspired by and commemorates the passing of the 19th Amendment in August 1920, which gave women the right to vote and at-long-last participate in our representational democracy.
