A Ceremony Honoring the 250th Anniversary of the Declaration of Independence.

This free program at the gravemarker of Signer of the Declaration of Independence George Wythe will feature a bio of Wythe, followed by a multi society reading of the Declaration of Independence. Participating societies include The Richmond Sons of the American Revolution, the Commonwealth Daughters of the American Revolution, the Virginia Children of the American Revolution, the Virginia Society of the Order of the Founders and Patriots of America, the Daughters of the Founders and Patriots of America, Descendants of the Signers of the Declaration of Independence, the Society of the Cincinnati, Daughters of the Cincinnati, and the Sons of the Revolution.  

Sponsored by the Richmond Chapter, Sons of the American Revolution and the Virginia Society Order of the Founders and Patriots of America.

House Rules for Historic St. John’s Church

  • We encourage masks but they are no longer required.

  • Seating is first come, first served.

  • There is no food, drink, gum, candy, strollers, backpacks or firearms permitted inside the church.

  • Bags larger than 16 x 16 x 8 are prohibited inside the church. Any and all bags are subject to inspection. Please leave backpacks and bags inside your vehicle as we have no place to store them.
